The UN envoy had expressed his concern about the military escalation in Hodeidah province, as it is not only a violation of the ceasefire agreement in Hodeidah, but also it contradicts the spirit of the existing negotiations sponsored by the United Nations to reach a ceasefire in all parts of Yemen.
In his statement Thursday, Griffiths called on the Yemeni parties to immediately stop hostilities, respect their commitments in the Stockholm Agreement and interact with the efforts of the United Nations mission to support the Hodeidah Agreement.
