Salary interruption causes coalition camp, container port in Aden to be closed

ADEN, Sep. 27 (YPA) – Hundreds of soldiers in the port city of Aden, southern Yemen, closed on Sunday the container port in ‘Al-Mansoura’ district, the oil port in Buraiqa area, and Saudi-led coalition camp.

The move came in response to the Southern Military Commission’s call to escalate and demand salaries for employees of the military and security sectors that have been suspended for four months.

Earlier in the day, the Southern Military Commission organized a demonstration near the coalition camp in Buraiqa, during which escalating steps were announced to pressure the coalition leadership and Hadi’s government to pay the suspended military salaries.

The personnel of the so-called “Fourth Military Region”, along with the employees of the Interior Ministry of Hadi’s government, received a few days ago the salary of the month of May of this year, while the salaries of the following months remained suspended.
