SANAA, Sept. 21 (YPA) – Canadian police said that package containing a toxic substance sent to US President Donald Trump may have originated in Canada, according to preliminary FBI information.
Canadian CBC News quoted Royal Canadian Mounted Police spokesman Dan Bryan on Sunday as saying that it had “received a request for assistance from the FBI regarding a suspicious letter sent to the White House.”
“Preliminary information obtained as part of the investigation suggests that the letter came from Canada,” Brian said, adding that he could not give further details at this time.
Earlier in the week, several US media outlets reported that security agencies intercepted a letter sent to the White House with the aim of delivering it to Trump.
The letter was intercepted at a government institution examining mail to the White House, and informed officials confirmed that the package contained highly toxic ricin, which was confirmed by two tests.
