BAYDA, Sept. 5 (YPA) – A Salafi leader was injured on Saturday when al-Qaeda militants targeted his military vehicle in Bayda province, sources told Yemen Press Agency.
The sources confirmed that the commander of Al-Amajid brigade in Makiras area, Salih al-Shajiri was wounded after a failed meeting with al-Qaeda organization’s leaders in Sharjan area of al-Somaa district.
A commander of a military battalion in Ahmed al-Dumani brigade also was injured, the sources added.
The sources pointed out that al-Shajiri held an unsuccessful meeting with al-Qaeda organization’s leadership in al-Somaa district, but al-Qaeda elements placed an explosive device in his military vehicle to detonate it from a distance.
