60 % int’l internet capacity goes out service: Official

SANAA, Aug. 31 (YPA) – An official at the General Telecommunications Corporation stated that 60 percent of the international capacity of the Internet went out service.

The official affirmed that exiting the Yemen International Telecommunication Company (TeleYemen) for services came as a result of a cutoff in one of the international cables outside Yemen.

According to a statement issued by Saba, the official explained that the external disruption in international Internet connections affected the Internet traffic in most provinces of Yemen.

The official indicated that contacts with international suppliers continued to provide alternatives through temporary paths until the return of the international capacities.
