ADEN, Aug. 27 (YPA) – The UAE-Backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) has retreated back on the move it took before the start of the second round of Riyadh negotiations, between him and the Hadi government.
A source in the presidency of the Transitional Council confirmed on Wednesday, that the self-administration decision announced is still in place in the city of Aden and the rest of the regions, without stopping.
“It gave Hadi’s government an opportunity to implement the “Riyadh Agreement” acceleration mechanism, but refused to do so, continuing with military violations in the Abyan front,” media outlet affiliated with the STC cited the source as saying.
He said the STC is well aware of what the Islah party is planning, and will not allow it to exceed its will at all costs.
The UAE-backed Council warned of any actions to prevent the return of its leaders to Aden, after the Riyadh Agreement reached a state of undeclared failure, describing Saudi Arabia as unable to force “legitimacy” to implement the agreement.
The STC announced at the end of July, before the start of the second round of negotiations in Riyadh, to back down from the so-called “self-management” decision announced at the end of April.
On Tuesday, the “Southern Transitional” suspended its participation in the Riyadh negotiations due to the ongoing military violations of al-Islah militants in the Abyan front, despite the presence of the Saudi committee to monitor the ceasefire.
