UAE occupation begins cultural change in Socotra

SOCOTRA, Aug. 19 (YPA) – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) occupation on Wednesday launched moves in the circles of Socotra society in an attempt to dirty the cultural identity of the conservative society.

Local sources revealed the recent recruitment of Emirati managing director Khalfan al-Ka’abi to women’s and foreign dance groups, which is funded by his country , for  free public dance selections under the name “Group Weddings”.

Activists circulated on social media video showing foreign girls performing dances in public places in the centre of the island under the name “The Third Mass Wedding”, funded by the United Arab Emirates.

Since its forces entered the island in 2017, the UAE has been seeking demographic and cultural changes in the composition of the population there in order to ensure its control of the strategic island in the coming decades.
