Houthi minister on coalition-wanted list takes part in bicycle race

SANAA, May 11 (YPA) – Minister of youths and sport, Hassn Zaid, on Thursday took part in a bicycle race at the heart of the capital Sanaa, challenging the Saudi-led coalition forces which put 10 million US dollar as a reward for any information that leads to his capture or killing.

The minister rode the bicycle and participated in the race in an apparent show of defiance to the coalition’s drones, through which the coalition has recently stepped up monitoring and assassination acts against the Houthi top officials.

The festival aimed to honor the country’s former president Saleh al-Sammad who was killed by a coalition drone strike last month in the Red Sea port city of Hodeidah.

Saudi Arabia had put 20 million US dollar as a reward for killing al-Sammad. However, most of the victims of drone and warplanes strikes were civilians.

Minister Zayd said his public appearance comes as a challenge to the coalition’s acts and reflects what he said the “Yemeni people steadfastness to confront the Saudi-led military aggression.”
