Yemeni Standards Authority confirms its support for local products

SANAA, June 28 (YPA) – The head of the Yemeni Authority for Standardization and Quality, Ibrahim Al-Moayyad, affirmed on Sunday the ongoing support by the Authority to develop and back the local products and upgrade their quality.

Al-Moayyad told Al-Masirah Channel that the move came through organizing many workshops for factories, plant, lab and productive families.

He added that the authority would prepare a list to distinguish the local product from the imported goods, confirming that the authority has an electronic data collection system.

Al-Moayyad added that the authority seized 2000 violating electric meters and 104 laboratories to produce sterilizers that did not conform to specifications, advising citizens to investigate the presence of the authority’s mark in stamping these meters.
