5 killed in Taliban attack on police station in Afghanistan

SANAA, June 21 (YPA) – Three Afghan police officers and two Taliban militants were killed and 16 others wounded on Sunday, in a Taliban attack on a police station in Baghlan province, northern Afghanistan.
Xinhua quoted the head of Nahrin district police Fadluddin Muradi as saying in a statement:  “A group of Taliban fighters attacked Nahrin district police station in the eastern part of Bul Khumri, the capital of Baghlan province, and 11 Afghan National Police and Afghan local police were wounded and five Gunmen during the clashes.”

He added that the injured police were taken to hospitals for treatment.

He pointed out that the attackers came on motorbikes from neighboring mountains, then fled before dawn.
