Saudi army arrests 25 mercenaries from Abyan at borders

SANAA, May 7 (YPA) – The Saudi army has arrested 25 mercenaries from sons of Abyan province, who are fighting in its ranks at the border front of Haradh in Hajjah province, military sources reported on Wednesday.

The sources said that Zaid al-Hajori, field leader of the Saudi army mercenaries assaulted recruits from Abyan during their protest against mistreatment and the delay of their salaries.

Al-Hajori directed his escorts to arrest the recruits on the charge of inciting and hold them in a prison cell, according to the sources.

Many mercenaries of the Saudi army threatened to escalate their protest, demanding the release of their detained colleagues.

The angry protests of the Saudi army mercenaries increased during the past months,  who demand their return to their areas.

Saudi Arabia deported 600 recruits last week through al-Wadeah crossing to Marib provinces after their protests without being subject to medical examinations or quarantine.
