Saudi, Emirati plots will not succeed in Mahra, Socotra: Deputy Head of Mahra sit-in

MAHRA, April 17 (YPA) – Deputy head of peaceful sit-in committee in Mahra province Sheikh Aboud Haboud Qumsit on Friday said that “the Saudi conspiracy against Mahra, and the Emirati plot against Socotra will not succeed, no matter what happens.”

“Saudi Arabia sees an appropriate opportunity to extend the oil pipeline by the legitimacy (Hadi’s government)’s support, something that changed after Saudi ambitions emerged,” Qumsit added in a post on his Facebook page.

He pointed out that Saudi Arabia’s control over Mahra militarily and domination of all province institutions and the overland ports has showed the true ambitions of Saudi Arabia in Mahra, and its exploitation of the umbrella of support for legitimacy to implement its plans.

Commenting on the events of Socotra Island, Qumsit said that the UAE is seeking to make Socotra an eighth UAE emirate, stressing that “this will not happen whatever they do from conspiracies against Yemen.”
