UAE-backed official escapes assassination attempt in Socotra

SOCOTRA, April 15 (YPA) – A UAE-backed official escaped on Wednesday from an assassination attempt carried out by unknown gunmen in Socotra island, sources told Yemen Press Agency.

The gunmen shot the member of the Community Committee of Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Humanitarian Foundation, Ali Afrar.

Ali Bin Afrar narrowly escaped and there are accusations of Islah party’s militants in the assassination attempt.
