SANAA, April 15 (YPA) – The Higher Ministerial Committee for Epidemics Control, at its meeting on Wednesday chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtoor, approved the requirements of local authorities in the capital Sanaa and provinces to confront Corona pandemic.
This came after the meeting discussed the memorandum submitted by Minister of Local Administration Ali al-Qaisi on the necessary requirements to help the local authorities apply precautionary measures to confront this pandemic, especially regarding the health quarantine at the outlets.
In its meeting, the committee continued to discuss the level of implementation of precautionary government decisions and measures related to confronting Corona.
In this regard, the committee recommended the establishment of a criminal court to look into urgent cases, foremost of which is the trial of persons involved in smuggling expatriates and others, who may carry Corona virus into the country.
The committee also directed the Ministry of Industry and Trade to double efforts to make sure the quality and safety of foodstuffs offered in the local markets and take legal measures against price manipulators.
In the same context, the committee emphasized taking advantage of the various societal initiatives to enhance the official effort to face any emergency related to Corona, including the youth initiative to produce respirators.
