Coronavirus deaths rise to 1,523 in China

SANAA, Feb. 15 (YPA) -The number of new coronavirus deaths on the Chinese mainland has risen to 1,523 by the end of Friday, authorities said Saturday, noting that the number of infected cases has reached 66,492.

“As of midnight on February 14, the Health Committee had received information from 31 provinces on 66,492 confirmed infected cases of coronavirus (including 11,053 in critical health condition) and 1,523 deaths,” the National Health Commission of China said in a statement.

The authorities in Hubei Province announced on Friday that the number of deaths from the new coronavirus in the region has risen to 1,457, with 54,400 infected people, and about 4,774 cases recovered.
