China declares extreme state of corona virus
SANAA, Jan. 25 (YPA) – China announced on Saturday the maximum state of emergency in 25 provinces due to the Corona virus, in light of the high number of deaths and injuries, pointing out that declaring the state of extreme emergency aims to maintain the health of the population.
The number of regions included in the declaration of the maximum state of emergency, 25 states and a central city, and the population of more than 1.2 billion people.
The Chinese authorities revealed the death of a doctor after being infected with the Corona virus, while sources talked about the infection of dozens of doctors with the virus in Wuhan, the first region where this virus appeared before its spread.
Amid international concern about the spread of this new virus, the Chinese authorities announced that the number of deaths rose to 41, while the number of infections rose to more than 1300, mostly in China.
The authorities also announced to limit the movement of unnecessary vehicles in Wuhan, starting on Sunday.
The World Health Organization announced earlier that it is “too early” to consider the new Coronavirus, which has appeared in China and is spreading to the world, as a “public health emergency on an international scale.”
“It is a state of emergency in China, but it is not yet a global health emergency … it may become so,” said WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanum Gebresos.
