TAIZ, Jan. 19 (YPA) – A military commander loyal to the US-backed Saudi-led aggression coalition, survived an assassination attempt on Sunday in Taiz province, southwestern Yemen, local sources said.
According to the sources, unidentified gunmen ambushed a convoy of the Head of operations officer of the 35th Armored Brigade, on the outskirts of the city of Al-Tourbah city.
They opened fire on the convoy of Colonel Abdul Hakim al-Jabzi, as he returned from a vigil in the city centre, demanding the delivery of the killers of Brigadier General Adnan al-Hammadi, commander of the brigade.
The sources confirmed that Colonel al-Jabzi survived the assassination attempt but that his car suffered some damage.
