Yemeni diplomatic source reveals why EU ambassadors visit Sanaa

SANAA, Jan. 20 (YPA) – Yemeni diplomatic source reveals the reason for the visit of EU ambassadors to Sanaa on Sunday.

According to the Yemeni diplomatic source, the main reason behind the visit of the ambassadors of the European Union countries to Sanaa, which came after the difficult struggles witnessed in the region and Yemen was an active player in it.

The source said that the “European Union countries” decided to reopen their embassies in Sanaa after the war entered its sixth year without achieving the goal that was a major cause of the war, which was to restore Sanaa and defeat the ‘Houthis’ and restore “legitimacy”.

The source confirmed that the ambassadors of the “European Union” countries acknowledged the need to return to Sanaa as a result of the political failures of Saudi-backed government and its failure to provide security and stability in Aden.

The source added that the “European Union” countries are making arrangements with the UN envoy Martin Griffiths to work on the pace of ending the war and return to the negotiating table, especially as the war took other grants, and its results were reflected in the regional situation and the Houthis have a significant force.

On Sunday, European Union Ambassador to Yemen Hans Grundberg, along with the Ambassador of France, Christian Testot, and the Ambassador of the Netherlands, Irma van Dueren have arrived in Sanaa today for a visit that could last several days.
