Dozens of STC militias arrested after clashes in Shabwah

SHABWAH, Jan. 1 (YPA) – Dozens of the USE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias were arrested after fierce clashes on Wednesday in Yemen’s southern province of Shabwah, sources said.

The sources affirmed that a commander of the STC militias escaped while the clashes with the Saudi-backed Islah Party militants in Wadi Huda area.

The exiled Hadi’s forces supported by Islah militants launched an attack against sites of the STC militias in the province.

Meanwhile, the STC had suspended its joint committees with exiled Hadi’s government from implementing “Riyadh-run Agreement” signed in last November, in protest against the military escalation in Shabwah.
