3 soldiers, 14 takfiris killed in attack on camp in Niger
SANAA, Dec. 11 (YPA) – The Nigerian Ministry of Defense announced on Tuesday evening that three soldiers and 14 takfiris were killed in an attack targeting an army camp in the western Tahoua region, near the border with Mali.
According to “AFP”, the ministry said in a statement broadcast on state television that “the provisional outcome of the attack killed three soldiers and wounded four.”
The Nigerian defense added that “14 terrorists were killed and other wounded.”
The ministry added in its statement that “after more than two hours of clashes, the security and defense forces managed to repel the attack and defeat the attackers who had fled to a neighboring country,” referring to Mali.
On Tuesday, the Council of Ministers extended a three-month state of emergency imposed since 2017 in several Tillabery and Tahoua districts in an attempt to curb terrorist attacks.
