Clashes between “Saudi and UAE” mercenaries in Aden

ADEN, Nov. 18 (YPA) – Fierce clashes broke out between UAE-backed militias and Hadi’s forces President Abd on Monday morning in the southern Port City of Aden, local source reported.

According to the sources, the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) said it has to stop the “provocations” of Hadi’s forces that hinder the implementation of the Riyadh agreement.

The Sources said on Sunday evening that the UAE-backed forces carried out raids in Dar Saad area of Aden province, but they confronted by the mercenaries in neighborhood, forcing them into retreat.

The clashes extended to the al-Mahreiq and Al-Silya neighbourhood in Sheikh Osman district, during which injuries were reported on both sides.

On the other hand, the so-called Southern Transitional Council said in a statement on its Twitter account that it may be forced to stop what he described as provocations by what he called the Muslim Brotherhood’s military leadership in Hadi government, which aims to obstruct the implementation of the Riyadh agreement.

The STC called on the leadership of the coalition to oblige the other party, referring to Hadi’s government, to stop these “provocations and violations”.

On November 5, Riyadh Agreement was signed by Hadi government and and the so-called UAE-backed Transitional Council, which provides for the return of Hadi’s government to Aden. But its implementation has been delayed more than once.

As a part of chaos and insecurity in Aden, a citizen was killed on Sunday by unknown gunmen in Aden province, local sources reported

The gunmen shot fire at the civilian and burned him inside his car in Khur Maksar city, according to the sources.

The cities of southern Yemen in general and Aden, in particular, have been witnessing a further rise in looting and killings since the Saudi-led coalition and the UAE took control over the city at the end of 2015.
