Govt is interested in encouraging national industries: Deputy PM

SANAA, Nov. 17 (YPA) – Deputy Prime Minister for Services and Development Affairs Dr. Hussein Maqbouli on Sunday affirmed the government’s interest in encouraging national industries and protecting and developing the local product.

“With a strong will and a sound management, we can develop local industries to reach global competition,” said Dr. Maqbouli at the opening of a training course, organized by the Yemen Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control Organization, in the field of food safety management according to the international standard.

He noted that the battle for sovereignty, independence and freedom is underway and the development wheel is moving forward on a solid base.

“Our developmental achievements will be parallel to the victories achieved by heroes of the army and the popular committees and the people’s steadfastness in the face of aggression,” he added.

Dr. Maqbouli praised the national private sector’s role in the development process as a key partner in the construction of the homeland, as well as the organization’s efforts to protect consumers, especially under the circumstances of the aggression and siege.
