Health Minister announces emergency to combat dengue, malaria

HODEIDAH, Nov. 12 (YPA) – The Minister of Health Taha al-Mutawakkil announced on Tuesday an internal emergency to combat vectors of dengue and malaria diseases in Hodeidah province.

During his visit to the province, the minister said that the move came to mobilize efforts to combat and reduce the spread of two diseases and other epidemics in the province due to the aggression and siege imposed by the Saudi-led coalition on Yemen.

Al-Mutawakkil called on the UN to exert efforts to stop the aggression and lift air, sea and land siege on the Yemen for allowing the Yemeni patients to travel for treatment abroad.

“There are 11 suspected cases of dengue fever and 51 deaths,” the minister added.
