SANAA, Nov. 12 (YPA) – Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf on Tuesday called on the international community to play its role by pressing Saudi-led aggression coalition countries to stop their violations against the Yemeni fishermen and release the abductees.

During his presiding over the first meeting of the committee charged with placing a mechanism to follow up the issues of Yemeni fishermen kidnapped in the coalition countries, Sharaf confirmed that the file of the kidnapped fishermen is of interest to the Supreme Political Council.

The Foreign Minister indicated that the aggression coalition states have been targeting fishermen boats, fishing ports and fishermen’s houses in coastal villages since the beginning of the aggression, in addition to kidnapping dozens of fishermen and placing them in secret prisons and detention centers.

He added that the Foreign Ministry raises this issue constantly with the international community and relevant organizations.

The meeting reviewed efforts to monitor violations against fishermen, inform concerned organizations and to alleviate the human suffering of fishermen’s families.
