SNSC rejects Riyadh Agreement, calls to restore power to people

ADEN, Nov. 6 (YPA) – The Southern National Salvation Council (SNSC) has categorically rejected the Riyadh agreement and the occupation and its leaders and rejecting any agreement that does not state the departure of foreign troops and preserves our independence and sovereign decision.

In a statement, the Council affirmed its rejection of any agreements that do not derive their legitimacy from the people through legitimate means such as elections, referendums or the consensus of all national forces.

The Southern National Salvation Council said  that “the Riyadh accord gave legitimacy to the Saudi foreign occupation to stay and give it the right to run local affairs in the country”.

“The Riyadh agreement makes access to power a reward for those who speak and rely on the power of arms and predominance and derive their legitimacy from the support of foreign countries,” the statement read.

“The agreement gives legitimacy to the regional militias that are followers to external powers and considers them part of the institutions of the national state.”

The Council confirmed that the Riyadh agreement enshrines the idea of failed quotas, which was one of the most important factors of the wars in the earlier stages.

The statement pointed out that the Riyadh agreement carries with it time bombs that threaten our present and future with more divisions, fragmentation and wars.

The Council called on all national forces and personalities to join forces and prepare to face the occupation in order to thwart  all its projects.

The Council renewed its call for national forces to unite to create a genuine national partnership that creates the conditions for restoring power to the people so that they can have a final say in their own self-determination.
