Yemen, OCHA discuses employees’ salaries problem

SANAA, April 23 (YPA) – Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Abdul Aziz Al-Koumim, on Monday met with the United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator (OCHA) in Yemen Lise Grande, Yemen agency SABA reported.

The meeting discussed a number of issues related to the strengthening of joint cooperation between Yemen and OCHA, subject of salaries of employees and the opening of ports and Sana’a International Airport closed because of siege imposed by Saudi-led coalition on Yemen and left most of state-staff for more than one year without salaries.

OCHA official confirmed that Yemen’s humanitarian response plan for the year 2018 will be reviewed to cope with the emergency situation in Yemen, adding that she will go to Washington to attend meetings of World Bank and raise the issues of salaries.
