Staff in Taiz University protests against Islah party militias

TAIZ, Oct. 20 (YPA) – Staff in Taiz University threatened to conduct a full-time strike in all faculties and departments of the university.

The university’s staff members held a vigil on Sunday denouncing constant attacks by al-Islah militias, which are constantly breaking into the campus.

Participants raised banners calling for an end to threats and attacks against academics at the university.

They explained that the threats they face are a threat to future generations.

Participants in the vigil demanded respect for Taiz university students and faculty members, in order to preserve the campus’s status and issue a strict decision prohibiting armed escorts from entering the campus, regardless of the rank of any security or military official.

They reiterated their absolute rejection of the presence of armed militias affiliated with al-Islah and Abu Abbas militias in the city of Taiz.
