FM meets director of UN envoy office in Sanaa

SANAA, April 22 (YPA) – Foreign minister Hisham Sharaf on Sunday met with  the director of office of UN envoy in Sanaa.

At the meeting, the officials discussed the consultations and efforts of the UN Envoy to Yemen Martin Griffith, and his visit to several region countries to present a plan to the UN Security Council for resumption of peace talks between the parties in Yemen.

Sharaf stressed on the importance of taking effective and urgent steps to alleviate the humanitarian suffering of the Yemeni citizens and lift the siege and the reopening of Sanaa airport for commercial and civilian flights.

The minister renewed on the National Salvation Government’s readiness to resume the peaceful political negotiations to reach a just and sustainable peace of the Yemeni people.
