Saudi-led coalition forces suffer heavy casualties in Jawf

JAWF, Oct. 4 (YPA) – Saudi-led coalition forces  have on Friday suffered  heavy human and material casualties during military operations carried out the army and popular committees on a number of fronts in Jawf  province, northern Yemen, a military official told Yemen Press Agency.

According to the  military official, units of the army and popular committees launched a surprise attack on positions of the coalition forces in the Sala’an front in  the district of al- Maslub, leaving a number of dead and wounded in the ranks of coalition soldiers.

The operation also resulted in the burning and destruction of coalition fortifications, the official said.

He indicated that the artillery unit shelled gatherings of the coalition soldiers in the Matoon compound, leaving casualties in their ranks

” Several others were killed and wounded in mortar attacks in al-Jarshab area of  al-Ghail district,” the official added.

On Thursday, coalition forces suffered casualties among their soldiers in a surprise attack by the army and committees on their positions west of Sala’an area of Maslub district.
