Coalition forces commander in Hadramout killed

HADRAMOUT, Sept. 19 (YPA) – Commander of Saudi-led coalition forces in Hadramout province was killed along with four of his escorts in an explosion targeted military vehicles on Wednesday morning in the city of Shibam city in the occupied province.

Brigadier Abu Nawaf, Saudi national, and four other soldiers, including two Saudis and two Yemenis, were killed in the blast that targeted a military patrol of the First Military Region that was carrying them, and ten other soldiers were wounded; a source told Yemen Press Agency.

The operation comes two days after a military force from the first military region loyal to Saudi Arabia raided a hideout of wanted people in the city of Shibam.

A military source said fierce clashes erupted between the so-called “Hadramout battalion for special missions” and militants linked to acts of sabotage and terrorism targeted a military force last week.
