SANAA, Sept. 16 (YPA) – US President Donald Trump on Monday stated surprise comments through a series of tweets on his Twitter account about the recent Saudi Aramco attacks.
“We don’t need Middle East oil and gas,” Trump said. “We don’t need it because we have become the world’s largest energy producer.”
He continued: “In fact we have very few tankers there in the Middle East, but we will help our allies!”
Brent crude weekly trading opened on Monday with a raise of 20 percent to $ 71.9 a barrel, before dropping to an average of $ 65, influenced by the US President’s remarks.
Trump wrote a tweet on Twitter, stressing that his country offered the option of withdrawing from its crude oil strategic reserves and pumping into the markets, if necessary.
On Saturday, two oil complexes belonging to the global energy giant Aramco in Abqaiq and Khurais provinces, eastern Saudi Arabia, were attacked by Yemeni army drones.
