Yemeni army inflicts heavy casualties on Saudi troops, mercenaries in counterattack in Hajjah

أِHAJJAH, Sept. 3 (YPA) – The Yemeni military spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Sare’e has confirmed that the army force backed by Popular Committees have failed On Monday infiltration attempts carried out by Saudi-led coalition soldiers and mercenaries in Hajjah province, northern Yemen.

Dozens of coalition recruits and mercenaries were killed and others injured as army heroes and popular committees confronted their biggest offensive attempt towards our forces’ positions in Haradh district, which lasted for nearly 24 hours, he said.

He indicated that “the mercenaries of aggression tried to march on the positions of our forces in Haradh district from four tracks with the strength of seven brigades and with the participation of Saudi forces and Sudanese mercenaries backed by heavy air cover of warplanes, reconnaissance and Apache aircrafts.

Brigadier General Yahya Sare’e Stressed that the heroes of the army and the popular committees were able to confront them and thwart their attempts, leaving dozens of the mercenaries dead and wounded, and a large number of their military vehicles were destroyed.”

He said that our heroic fighters carried out a counter-offensive, during which enemy forces were circumvented and surrounded to panic and flee, leaving the bodies of their dead and wounded behind.

He pointed out that the enemy’s warplanes tried to support his fighters by launching more than 22 air strikes, but it forces were defeated.

Brigadier Sare’e saluted the heroes of our armed forces and popular committees, praising their successive victories and heroic epics on all fronts.
