Gunmen loot millions of riyals in Lahj

LAHJ, July 23 (YPA) – Masked gunmen on a military vehicle belonging to the UAE-backed military militias on Thursday robbed 20 million riyals in Yemen’s southern province of Lahj, north of Aden.

Sources reported that masked gunmen broke into the Central Bank’s branch in the city of Lahj, and looted 20 million riyals was allocated for salaries of telecommunication staff, after threatening the bank’s employee with guns, and then fled to an unknown destination.

Early in last June, gunmen intercepted a car belonging to a money exchange company in Aden city and looted about 30 million riyals of the company.
