Yemeni drones target Aramco in Jizan, Asir airport

 

 

JIZAN, April 11 (YPA) – Yemen’s air forces on Wednesday carried out drone strikes on Saudi Aramco, officially the Saudi Arabian Oil Companyin Jizan border province and Abha airport in Asir , the Yemeni army said in statement obtained by Yemen Press Agency.

The drone,Qasif-1,which are characterized as Yemeni-made, targeted accurately Aramco and Abha airport.

Saudi authorities suspended the flight at Abha airport in Asir after Yemen’s drone air strikes on the airport.

The operations are the first carried out by the Yemeni Air Force outside the Yemeni border and on Saudi objectives.

On 26 February 2017, the Ministry of Defense’s Military Manufacturing Department unveiled unmanned drone<Qasif-1, after testing it in the field.

The drone is a first of a newly established national program, which is owned by the Military Manufacturing Department for the first time in its history.

The program of unmanned aircraft confirmed that it is working on developing a “UAV program to cover longer-range paths.

Qasif-1 has the following specifications:

Body length: 250 cm

Wing length: 300 cm

Flight time: 120 minutes

Range: 150 km

Engine Type: Gasoline Engine

Warhead load: 30 kg

The drone, Qasif-1, is equipped with several types of warheads by task  and with intelligent system to monitor the target then identified and hit.
