Hodeidah local authority condemns coalition continual escalation

HODEIDAH, Dec. 17 (YPA) – The local authority of Hodeidah province on Monday condemned the continual escalation by Saudi-led coalition forces in the western coast front during and after the peace consultations recently held in Sweden.

The authority denounced, in a statement, the coalition’s air attacks on citizens’ homes in the 7 July neighborhood and several areas in the outskirts of Hodeidah city.

“These irresponsible actions are contradictory to the understandings and agreements that had emerged from the negotiations on the cessation of hostilities and the initiation of a comprehensive peace settlement,” the statement said.

It noted that the latest of those actions was the burning of Nana factory, which is the last dairy factory in the province after destroying Yamani factory.

The statement considered these actions reckless and irresponsible and do not serve the humanitarian situation in Hodeidah.

The statement called on the international community to take the full responsibility to save the humanitarian situation in the province and stop the coalition crimes against innocent and civil institutions.
