Political detainee dies in prison in Abu Dhabi

SANAA, Dec. 12 (YPA) – One Emirati political detainee has died in a prison in Abu Dhabi one year before his sentence expired seven years ago.

The detainee was tortured during his continuous detention since 2013, according to a familiar source with the issue.

It was supposed that his term punishment end at the beginning of 2020, the source added.

Salem Musa Fairouz Khamis who is a member of the UAE security services was accused of spying with a foreign State and providing it with information that harms the national security.

He died as a result of ill-treatment and torture, the sources said.
He was sentenced by the Federal Supreme Court in Abu Dhabi to seven years in prison,” the Gulf online reported.
