SANAA, Dec. 12 (YPA) – The chairman of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations on Tuesday said that he would present a joint resolution condemning Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, which could force President Donald Trump’s hand on the issue.
Corke said he believed that the Council could approve the decision, noting that the majority Leader Mitch McNeil was among the participants. If it passes the House of Representatives, it would go to the White House for Trump to sign or veto.
“We hope to vote very strongly on a resolution condemning the Covenant,” the Democratic senator said.
“The Senate is very confident that the Saudi crown prince is complicit in his murder,” he said.
