Mahra celebrates Independence Day, rejecting Saudi occupation

MAHRA, Dec. 6 (YPA) – Residents of Mahra province, eastern Yemen, on Thursday celebrated the 51st anniversary of November 30, the independence day from British occupation, demanding the departure of the Saudi occupation from the province.

In the celebration, Mahra residents said that their struggle at this stage against the Saudi occupation is “an extension of November 30, the day of freedom and dignity.”

They confirmed that “the Saudi and Emirati occupation forces would fail and leave the land of Mahra and Yemen.”

Thousands of citizens in Mahra have been protesting for months in the city of Ghaida against the presence of troops from Saudi Arabia, which seeks to extend an oil pipeline from its territory to Nashton port in the province on the coast of the Arabian Sea.
