Iraq: Parliamentary elections’ voting started in  Kurdistan

SANAA, Sept. 30 (YPA) – Election centers opened on Sunday to citizens in four provinces in Kurdistan region of Iraq, to vote in the elections of the fifth session of Territory Parliament.

Voters flock to polling stations in the provinces of Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, Dahuk and Halabja, where Kurdish parties compete to win the largest number of seats.

About 3 million people in Kurdistan region are entitled to cast their ballots in the general election, with 29 entities competing for 111 seats in the provincial parliament.

The Electoral Commission for elections and the referendum in the Kurdistan region of Iraq on Saturday, the “success” of the vote on the elements of the security forces in the provincial parliament elections, noting that the participation rate reached 91%.
