Aden witnesses angry protests by merchants in parade square

ADEN, April 24 (YPA) – Dozens of building materials merchants and transport drivers organized an angry protest on Wednesday in the city of Aden, southern Yemen, against abuses carried out by the Southern Transitional Council (STC) factions funded by the UAE.

The protesters gathered at the parade square in the Khormaksar area in protest against the exorbitant arbitrary levies imposed by the leader of the so-called “Land Protection Intervention Unit,” Kamal Al-Halimi, on citizens for obtaining building permits, as well as building materials merchants.

The building materials merchants at the protest raised banners calling on the government loyal to the Saudi-led coalition and the President of the “Presidential Leadership Council” to intervene urgently to limit the actions of Al-Halimi and allow them to carry out their work.

They explained that these arbitrary measures and levies harmed their interests and their businesses.
