Malaysian troops in Saudi to withdrawn: Sabu

SANAA, June 28 (YPA) – Malaysian troops in Saudi Arabia will be brought back home soon, Malaysian Defense Minister Mohamad Sabu said on Thursday.

Sabu said that Malaysia will be involved in relationships with Saudi and Qatar.

Last week, Mohamad had said that the government will review the stationing of Malaysian troops in Riyadh. They were sent there as Saudi is waging a war against Houthi rebels and their allies in Yemen.

Earlier, Rights group Lawyers for Liberty in Malaysia had called to cease all military involvement in the conflict and withdraw Malaysian troops stationed in Riyadh.

He added that Malaysia’s troops deployed in Saudi kingdom did not involved in Yemen war or in any attack against ISIS.
