STC’s militia leader survives assassination in Abyan

ABYAN, Oct. 28 (YPA) – A militia leader affiliated with the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) has survived an assassination attempt in Abyan province, southern Yemen, local sources reported on Thursday.

The sources confirmed that Ali Baleid bin Nasser, commander of a point of the so-called “security belt”, was injured on Wednesday evening after being attacked in Al-Mahfad area.

Unidentified gunmen riding a motorbike fired at Baleid, wounding him in the chest and head, and they fled to an unknown destination, the sources explained.
