Saudi Arabia deports detained Ethiopian migrants after being tortured

SANAA, Jan. 28 (YPA) – Saudi Arabia has deported hundreds of detained Ethiopian migrants after being tortured in its prisons, according to the British newspaper of The Daily Telegraph.

The newspaper said in its report in last Tuesday, that 300 Ethiopian detainees were airlifted to capital Addis Ababa on Tuesday.

Pictures of the detainees was released by Ethiopian state media showed on the tired faces as they left the plane.

The newspaper quoted Nebiu Tedla, the Ethiopian Deputy Consul General in Jeddah, as saying, there are about 40,000 Ethiopian immigrants who are willing to return home.

She alerted migrants to stop talking stories of the violations and tortures they were subjected to because they cause “distress to the larger Ethiopian families and society.
