Protest rally in Aden demands to release detainees in STC prisons

ADEN, Jan. 12 (YPA) – A protest rally was held on Tuesday by dozens of mothers of detainees and prisoners in Yemen’s southern city of Aden, to demand the release of their sons from the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias’ jails.

During the rally, the protesters demand to reveal the fate of 39 detainees who had been hidden in “Bir Ahmed Prison” for nearly four years, without having been referred to the judiciary.

The participants called on all humanitarian organizations to show solidarity with the mothers’ rightful demands and to free their forcibly disappeared sons.

The rally demanded that all those involved in the arrest and disappearance of all detainees without any legal justification.

The rally also was organized by the Mothers of the Kidnapped and Forcibly Disappeared Association in front of the residence of the exiled Hadi government in Al-Masheeq Palace in Aden.
