Hadi forces launch drone attacks on STC’s positions in Abyan

ABYAN, Oct. 22 (YPA) – Fierce armed clashes on Wednesday renewed between Hadi’s forces and the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias in the southern governorate of Abyan,local sources reported

Mohammed al-Naqib, spokesman for the STC in Abyan said in a tweet  on Thursday that Hadi forces  carried out  drone attacks against his forces positions in the province.

He confirmed that done aircraft dropped a number of “projectiles”, adding that this step reflects the Islah defeats and failure to make any progress on the ground.

Abyan has been the scene of intense shelling along the front lines of the fighting in Taryh and Sheikh Salem areas for the past three days.

The announcement of a military escalation by Hadi’s forces coincides with the start of new attempts by Saudi Arabia to move the Riyadh accord, which has been stalled since it was signed a year ago, especially the political part that rejects Hadi’s formation of the new government without military measures on the ground leading to the removal of the STC factions and the handover of Aden.
