Azerbaijan accuses Armenia of launching ballistic missiles

SANAA, Oct. 22 (YPA) –  Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense announced, on Thursday morning, that Armenian forces launched ballistic missiles towards the Gabalin region in the north of the country.

The Azerbaijani defense issued a statement saying: “On October 22, at 9 am, the Armenian forces launched ballistic missiles from their lands towards the Gebala and Kordamir region in the north of the country.”

In the same context, the press spokesman of the Armenian Ministry of Defense, Shushan Stepanyan, denied that the Armenian forces launched ballistic missiles at Azerbaijan.

Baku and Yerevan agreed to a humanitarian truce, starting at midnight local time, and Azerbaijan has not commented on the accusations against it of violating the armistice so far.

It is reported that since the situation in Karabakh began to worsen, Russia has sponsored a number of telephone conversations and meetings with representatives of the two parties, and also organized a meeting of the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan in Moscow, which resulted in an agreement on a truce.
