Israeli-American delegation visits Bahrain
SANAA, Oct. 18 (YPA) – An Israeli-American delegation arrived on Sunday in Manama, the capital, Bahrain, in an official visit, to active relations between the two sides.
The members of the delegation traveled at Manama on a flight belonging to the Israeli “El Al” company, carrying the number 973 officials, in reference to the international dialing code for Bahrain.
Bahrain’s Foreign Minister, Abdullatif Al-Zayani, welcomed the US Treasury Secretary, Steven Mnuchin, who accompanied the delegation, and the Israeli National Security Advisor Meir Ben-Shabbat.
Al-Zayani said that the visit of the Israeli-American delegation is a “step to activate the peace declaration,” describing “the visit of the Israeli delegation to his country the historic.”
Earlier, An Israeli official announced Sunday that Bahrain and Israel would formalize diplomatic relations, after being reached an US-mediated agreement between two sides last month.
The official added that the two sides would be able to open two embassies after signature of document today evening.
