Hodeidah’s local authority condemns coalition’s bombing on al-Salif city

HODEIDAH, July 9 (YPA) – The local authority in Hodeidah governorate condemned on Thursday the US-backed Saudi-led coalition’s airstrikes on one of facilities of the Salt Company in al-Salif district, in a new breach of Sweden agreement.

The local authority said, in a statement, which Saba received a copy of it, that the coalition air raids resulted in significant damage to the company’s properties, noting that this targeting is a clear violation of international humanitarian law that criminalizes targeting civilian installations and objects.

The statement affirmed that “this major violation of the Sweden agreement confirms the position of the United Nations and its bias towards the aggression coalition countries in their war against Yemen.

The local authority of Hodeidah denounced the shameful silence of United Nations and the Security Council and their derogation from their duties, which allowed and encouraged the aggression countries to continue committing more crimes.

The statement called on the international community and the United Nations to stand firm against these violations, which are aimed at undermining the peace process in Hodeidah and thwarting the Sweden agreement.
