Military commander survives assassination attempt in Taiz

TAIZ, April 26 (YPA) – A military commander loyal to Saudi-led coalition survived an assassination attempt on Thursday evening in Taiz province, local sources told Yemen Press Agency.

Military sources confirmed that the commander of what so-called Brigade 22 Mika Brigadier Sadiq Sarhan belonging to the ISLAH Party survived an assassination attempt in the eastern city of Taiz, in an ambush was set up by militias loyal to Abu Al-Abbas during his visit to inspect his armed forces there.

Brigade 22 Mika forces bombed the headquarters of UAE-backed militias with Katyusha rockets and artillery shells, killing 9 civilians including a woman and her child in Madafar area.

The city of Taiz is witnessing fierce clashes between Riyadh-backed militia ISLAH Part and the UAE-funded militia “Abu Abbas”, which left more than 27 citizens between dead and wounded.
