Palestinian people marking Nakba Day with mass strikes

SANAA, May 15 (YPA) –  Mass strikes have hit various cities and camps across the Gaza Strip and the West Bank Wednesday, marking the seventy-first anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba at a time when preparations are under way for launching a massive March of Return on the eastern border of the Gaza Strip with an expected attendance of over a million participants.

Students and school students stopped going to schools and universities while government institutions closed their doors as well as shops, in response to the calls made by the High Commission for Return Marches and the Breaking of the Siege.

Meanwhile, the Zionist occupation army intensified its presence at the border as the Palestinian people prepared to commemorate the Nakba Day.

“Nakba,” or catastrophe, commemorates the hundreds of thousands of Palestinians who were expelled in the war that led to the establishment of Israel in 1948.
